Rain Study
|
|
Music Mood: Iron and Wine
Wow, haven't updated this thing for a while. Well, went to go study and I thought I'd bring the camera. Walking to the library it wasn't raining. But walking back, it was pouring. I wasn't able to take very many pictures because my fingers were going to freeze off. Cold Rain, not good for picture taking. Think I may buy some gloves/mittens. Just in case I get stuck in that situation again.

Switchfoot Concert
|
|
Switchfoot - http://www.switchfoot.com
The Format - http://www.theformat.com
The Honorary Title - http://www.thehonorarytitle.com
I went to the Switchfoot concert with my friend Chris monday night. The opening bands were The Honorary Title and The Format. I had listened to both bands a little before going to the concert, and both sounded pretty good. The Honorary Title was good. The audience seemed to like them. The Format was awesome at the concert. Most of the band was barefoot. Guess thats why they have rugs on the ground. The lead guitarist for The Format was crazy. He would jump around, go right up to the audience and let them touch his guitar. Everytime one of the opening bands would mention Switchfoot, the crowd would go crazy. It felt kind of ackward for me and chris because we felt like some of the oldest people there. There were a lot of middle school, high school, and maybe even elementary school youngsters there with they're parents tagging along. And almost every single one of them had a cellphone, and kept playing with it throughout the entire concert. Kids.....
Switchfoot was better than expected! I had already expected them to be great. They were more energetic than I though they'd be. I thought they'd just play they're songs, but they were going crazy-Picture #8. The lead singer tried climbing something on the side, but that wasn't happening. He went up about 5 feet, and then just jumped back down. Didn't want to risk it, I guess. Awesome concert.
After the concert, Chris suggested that we go to Dick's, and old fashioned Burger place. It definitely hit the spot. I probably would have eaten anything, because I was starving. Great night.

Nintendo Fusion Tour
|
|
Went to the Nintendo Fusion Tour Friday night!!
Lineup:
Taking Back Sunday http://www.takingbacksunday.com
Story of the Year http://www.storyoftheyear.net
Lost Prophets http://www.sonymusic.co.uk/lostprophets/lpcom/
Fall Out Boy http://www.falloutboyrock.com
My Chemical Romance (Favorite) http://www.mychemicalromance.com
Matchbook Romance http://www.matchbookromance.com
We were running kind of late. The show started at 5:45-6:00pm, but we got there at 6:30pm due to Everett & Seattle traffic. Add rain to the mix and that just spells disaster. We only missed Matchbook Romance. I really didn't care. I hadn't listened much to their music. So we got there at 6:30 and within 5 minutes My Chemical Romance was playing. I wanted to get closer, but i didn't want to enter the crazy "moshers" in the front. So, I went down the right side and close to the front. Perfect spot for people who want to get close and not get trappled. I took a couple of pictures of My Chemical, but they didn't come out. Oh well, they were great. Me and "Gine" felt brave, plus I wanted to take some good pictures, so we got close to the front but a little off to the side. Let me tell you, it was still crazy!! To prevent from being trappled, when the crowd jumped with the beat, I jumped as well. I'd recommend a great rock concert as a stress reliever. I didn't have any built up stress, but it still felt good. Lost Prophets and Fall Out Boy were both pretty good. I was surprised that I didn't really care for both of the headliners: Story of the Year & Taking Back Sunday. They were good, but not .
Feeling a little something in my throat. I think I may have gotten a sore throat from the concert. The combination of 600 people, each pushed up against each other(some, I'm sure who were sick), and not drinking anything for the 5 hour show, gave me this soreness in my throat. Ricola helps! Plus, I think it's worth it.

Interesting Night
|
|
So yeah, last night was interesting. We hung out in my room. Soccer Dan did his usual "Look at my camel toe bit". I tried to refrain, but then I had to take a couple of pictures.
Earlier in the day, there was some girl (at least I think it was a girl) was taking in the hooka like nobody's business. A University police officer came up to her and checked out her little contraption. Seemed like he wanted to join her. But then he just moved along. Pretty funny stuff.
Chris (background of photo #5) was hitting on a girl all night on AIM that he didn't even know. Smooth talker, that guy.
